Pastor

Pastor Anthony R. Scalisi accepted a call to West Prairie Lutheran Church in Leland, Iowa starting his full-time ministry on October 1, 2019.  He is originally from New York having lived in Staten Island and more rural Cooperstown.  This is a second career for Pastor Tony who was a pharmacist, owning his own pharmacy at one point and serving in the community, hospitals and nursing homes.

He earned a Master of Divinity from Trinity School of Ministry/North American Lutheran Seminary in Ambridge, Pennsylvania in May 2018.  He completed a one year Clinical Pastoral Education internship in the summer of 2015 at York Hospital. Prior to his call to north Iowa he completed an internship at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (LCMC) in Fontanelle, Iowa, and became a certified pastor of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). 

A celebration of Holy Communion and the Rite of Ordination into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ, Sion Lutheran Church and West Prairie Lutheran Church was held for Pastor Anthony R. Scalisi on Sunday, October 6, 2019. Pastor Scalisi resigned from Sion Lutheran Church in July 2021 and is currently serving West Prairie Lutheran Church in Leland, Iowa.

Pastor Scalisi and his wife, Nancy, live in Forest City, Iowa.
