Pastor Bang was installed at West Prairie Lutheran Church, LCMC, on Sunday, August 25, 2013.

Pastor Bang and his wife, Jonie, moved to the Forest City area from Lampe, Missouri near Branson where he served the Christian Church in Lead Hill, Arkansas. Prior to that he served Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. Pastor Bang graduated from American Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN with a Master of Divinity degree in 1995 and was rostered with AALC. He is currently rostered with LCMC.

Pastor Bang was raised on a farm in the Forest City area and graduated from Forest City High during which time he was a member of Pilot Knob Lutheran Church. Pastor Bang began his Christian service in Bible Camp and youth ministry. He served with Camp Ambassadors a gospel team with the Lutheran Evangelistic Movement; as Waikiki Beach Chaplain in Honolulu, HI; at Lutherwood Bible Camp, Bellingham, WA; at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN; at Peace Lutheran, Shell Knob, MO; at Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren in Minneapolis, at Bible Lutheran in Dodge Center, MN; and Living Word Lutheran in Albert Lea, MN. He then felt the call into pastoral ministry. He attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, Washington before studying at American Lutheran Theological Seminary. Pastor Bang brings a wealth of experience in youth, camp, and pastoral ministry as well as in the secular sector. His warm friendly and informal style makes it possible for him to relate to a broad range of people. His preaching and teaching is Biblical and inspiring. He describes himself as “a conservative, Bible-believing, Bible preaching, evangelical Christian who desires to serve the Lord by using the spiritual gifts of pastor/teacher.”
