Pastor Anthony R. Scalisi accepted a call to West Prairie Lutheran Church in Leland, Iowa starting his full-time ministry on October 1, 2019. He is originally from New York having lived in Staten Island and more rural Cooperstown. This is a second career for Pastor Tony who was a pharmacist, owning his own pharmacy at one point and serving in the community, hospitals, and nursing homes.
He earned a Master of Divinity from Trinity School of Ministry/North American Lutheran Seminary in Ambridge, Pennsylvania in May 2018. He completed a one-year Clinical Pastoral Education internship in the summer of 2015 at York Hospital. Prior to his call to north Iowa, he completed an internship at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (LCMC) in Fontanelle, Iowa, and became a certified pastor of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).

Pastor Tony states “I am very excited to be in here in Iowa and to be serving our Lord at West Prairie Lutheran Church for the past five years. We are embarking on some new youth and adult programs. I am looking forward to what God has instore for me and this congregation.”
Pastor Scalisi and his wife, Nancy, live in Forest City, Iowa
